Papiernova, a contemporary collection of art prints, is inspired by the parallels of nature, architecture, and textiles. The collection’s name—derived from the French term “papier collé,” embraces the concept of elevating the ordinary by thoughtfully utilizing upcycled paper. The designs are made by Gabrielle Purifoy, a multidisciplinary creative, who is an alumna of the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, and a graduate of The New School in New York, NY.
Throughout her career, Gabrielle has explored a variety of artistic disciplines, including filmmaking, photography, and graphic design. This collection of abstract imagery has proven particularly rewarding for her, as it has provided her with the freedom to express herself in her newfound surroundings. This liberation has encouraged her to incorporate sustainable practices when creating her designs and selecting packaging solutions.
The current prints on display are part of a larger multi-series—with Gabrielle envisioning further expansion as she draws more inspiration. Each series will feature color stories that will serve as the focal point of each individual artwork.
